Ingredients
300 g (10.7 oz) grated Mozzarella cheese
200 g (7.1 oz) grated Parmesan
170 g (6 oz) Ricotta cheese
250 g (9 oz) Ziti pasta
Half a white onion, chopped
350 g (12.5 oz) ground beef
1 cup tomato pasta sauce
3 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dry basil
Directions
- Boil the pasta in salted water according to the instructions on the package. Drain the water.
- Mix pasta with Ricotta cheese and grated Parmesan. Mix everything well. Set the pasta aside.
- In a medium-sized skillet, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil until they become soft.
- Add the mince and spices to the pan and cook for about 7-8 minutes until the mince turns brown.
- Add tomato sauce to the minced meat and cook for a couple more minutes.
- Take a baking dish and place half of the minced meat on the bottom of it.
- Place all the pasta on top of the minced meat.
- Sprinkle 1/2 of the grated Mozzarella over the pasta.
- Place the remaining minced meat on top of the cheese layer.
- Finally, sprinkle everything with Mozzarella.
- Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes until the top layer becomes golden brown.
