Ingredients

  • 12 pieces of lasagna, uncooked

  • ½ pound ground beef or turkey

  • 1 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 2 lbs tomato sauce

  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • 2 cup ricotta cheese

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves

  • 1 tablespoons dried parsley

  • Salt and pepper

  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

  • Fry the minced meat in a small amount of olive oil for 5 minutes until it turns brownish
  • Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for up to 10 minutes, or according to package directions. Do not stack cooked lasagna sheets on top of each other otherwise they will stick together (you can use foil between each sheet so they do not have contact)
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Add the eggs, salt and pepper.
  • Combine your choice of meat, garlic, basil, parsley and tomato sauce in a separate bowl.
  • Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange three lasagna noodles over the sauce. Cover with one cup of sauce. Add half of the cheese mixture and cover with another four pieces of lasagna, pressing gently. Top with sauce. Add the remaining noodles and top with sauce and cheese.
  • Heat the oven to 180 C° (350°F). Cover the dish with aluminum foil and cook for up to 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 25 minutes.
  • Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving. Garnish with remaining parsley. Enjoy!
