This salad has a long and interesting history. It is believed that it originated from Germany, where red cabbage is a traditional ingredient. It was first mentioned in a cookbook by Anna Wecker in 1598. She called it roter krautsalat and added raisins, vinegar, and sugar to it. The bacon was added later, as a way of using the leftover meat from the pork dishes. The feta cheese and the walnuts are more recent additions, inspired by the Mediterranean cuisine.

Then, you fry the bacon and the garlic in some olive oil, and add them to the salad. You toast the walnuts in a dry pan for more flavor, and sprinkle them over the salad. You finish with some feta cheese and some fresh parsley. The salad is ready! Bon appetit 😋
