Kick-up your plain chicken breast using this recipe featuring beef, bacon & mushrooms – Yum!
Chicken is usually a crowd-pleaser and can be a wonderful entrée for a dinner party or family gathering. Chicken provides a good amount of protein and pairs well with many side items.

Salad, bread and a side dish can quickly turn a chicken breast recipe into a complete meal that is perfect for a dinner party or special occasion. This chicken entrée seems as though it would be difficult to prepare, but it is relatively easy. Most of the ingredients are simply mixed together and poured over the meat. Guests will be both impressed and delighted with the dish.
This chicken entrée has a delicious flavor that comes from the combination of chicken, dried beef and bacon. Dried beef is a quick way to add texture and flavor to the meal. You can find it in the grocery store near the tuna and canned meats. The mushroom soup also adds flavor and contributes a creamy texture that makes this dish seem like comfort food. The chicken is tender when it finishes cooking, and the taste blends well with the mushroom sauce.
Rice makes an excellent side dish and complements the recipe well. After cooking, the pan will have extra mushroom sauce that can be used to cover rice or bread. Green vegetables such as sweet peas are also an excellent side dish with the recipe.
The recipe can be altered to suit particular tastes and will still be great for a crowd. If you are not a strong fan of mushrooms, then the sliced mushrooms can be omitted and the recipe will still taste great. If you are not a fan of dried beef, then you may omit that ingredient and still enjoy the tastes of chicken and bacon coming together.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts

  • 8 slices of bacon

  • 450 g (16 oz) of sour cream

  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 jar of sliced mushrooms

  • 1 jar of dried beef

Directions

  • Fry the mushrooms in a small amount of vegetable oil for 5-7 minutes
  • Wrap 2 slices of bacon around each chicken breast. After each piece of chicken has bacon wrapped around it, place the chicken breasts into a 9 x 13 casserole dish.
  • Combine the sour cream, cream of mushroom soup and sliced mushrooms in a mixing bowl and stir well. Tear the dried beef into small pieces and add it to the mixture. Stir until the dried beef is completely mixed in. Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
  • Bake the dish for 90 minutes at 175 C° (350 degrees F) and serve hot.
  • When serving, you can add a spoonful or two of extra mushroom sauce on top of the chicken breast for an additional flavor boost.
