kcalIf you do not have much time to bother with pizza dough, I have a great alternative to the usual pizza for you. This baguette pizza recipe was a godsend for me. Everything you need for this pizza is probably in your fridge. We will need French bread, some vegetables and cheese, you can also add sausage or ham.
The best part about all this is that one baguette makes 2 pizzas. You can use different toppings for each of them. I love vegetable pizza and my husband loves meat pizza. Therefore, in this recipe, I will show you both options. Just don’t forget basil leaves, this is the secret ingredient that will bring that authentic Italian pizza flavor.

Ingredients
Mozzarella cheese grated (1 cup)
French bread
Red onion chopped 1/3 cup
Pepperoni 1/3 cup
Red bell pepper chopped 1/2 cup
Olive oil 3 tbs
Oregano dried 1 tbsp
Zucchini chopped 1/2 cup
Champion chopped 1/2 cup
Tomato paste 1/3 cup
Fresh basil leaves
Directions
- Cut the baguette horizontally into two equal parts
- Mix olive oil and tomato paste together. Coat soft sides of the baguette with the mixture.
- Sauté each vegetable in a small amount of olive oil for 1 minute. Sauté the mushrooms for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Set aside
- Sprinkle each piece of baguette with mozzarella cheese
- Put the filling on top. I use all the vegetable toppings to make a veggie pizza and for the other pizza I put the pepperoni on the other side of the baguette to make a pepperoni pizza. You can mix vegetables and sausage if you like.
- Put the pizza to bake at 220 degrees C° (430 F) for 15 minutes. When pizza is ready, garnish with basil leaves. The pizza is very tasty and fragrant with a crispy crust. Bon appetit!
