Ingredients

  • 150 g (5.3 oz) grated Cheddar cheese

  • 359 g (12.8 oz) beef, thinly sliced

  • 150 g (5.3 oz) bacon, cut into thin strips

  • 500 g (1.1 lbs) small potatoes

  • Half an onion chopped

  • 1 tbsp chopped green onion

  • 40 ml (1.4 oz) sunflower oil

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp dry garlic

  • Salt/pepper to taste

Directions

  • Place the potatoes in the microwave for 6-7 minutes or boil until half cooked. Cut the potatoes into quarters and peel them. You can also use unpeeled baby potatoes. Set the cooked potatoes aside.
  • Saute the onion in sunflower oil until soft, for about 3 minutes.
  • Add beef, salt, pepper to onion and saute until golden brown for about 7-8 minutes. Set aside.
  • In the same frying pan, using vegetable oil saute the potatoes with dry paprika and garlic until crispy, for about 7 minutes. Add salt to taste. Drain off excess oil.
  • Add beef and cheddar cheese to your potatoes and cook for about 1 minute until the cheese is melted.
  • While the potatoes are getting prepared, saute bacon in another skillet until golden brown.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and top with the fried bacon and green onions. Serve the dish hot.
