Taftan kabab is one of the most delicious and fascinating meat recipes. It is very popular across the globe thanks to its appetizing taste and pleasant aroma. Taftan kababs can be served as tea time snacks or as a spicy item in your dinner menu. If you also want to try this scrumptious recipe, follow given below step-by-step instructions.


  • ½ kg (1 lbs) minced meat

  • 1 cup boiled dal chana

  • 1 cup boiled dal mash

  • 1 cup thinly chopped onions

  • 1 cup thinly chopped tomatoes

  • 5 thinly chopped green chilies

  • 1 tbsp ginger paste

  • 1 tbsp garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp tamarind pulp

  • 1 tbsp red chili powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp ajwain

  • 1 tbsp salt

  • Oil (as needed)

  • 2 eggs


  • Add ghee in a pan and heat it over medium flame. Add onion, tomatoes and green chilies and fry for few minutes.
  • Add red chili powder, black pepper powder, ginger-garlic paste and ajwain, continue cooking.
  • After few minutes, add minced meat and cook well.
  • Now combine boiled daal chana, daal mash and fried minced meat and grind this mixture thoroughly in chopper. Add salt and tamarind pulp in the prepared cocktail, then add little water and kneed it.
  • Turn the minced meat mixture into small cutlets.
  • Beat two eggs in a small bowl. Heat cooking oil or ghee in a frying pan.
  • Dip each cutlet into the beaten egg and fry it till turns golden brown. Delicious Taftan kababs are ready now. Transfer them in a serving dish, garnish with salad and serve hot.
